Excel 2010 imports AS400 external time data as 00:00:00

We have an Excel 2010 spreadsheet which pulls data in from AS400 via an ODBC connection, and one of the columns which should be TIME format and show times such as 11:30:00 is showing times as 00:00:00 even though the time column on the AS400 datasource holds the time in the correct format (eg 11:30:00).

Spreadsheet was originally created on a PC with Excel 2007 installed, and under Excel 2007 we did not have this issue and the time was always shown exactly as per the time on the AS400 datasource. But since the PC was upgraded to have Excel 2010, we are seeing this problem.

Any ideas on what we can do to resolve this, please ?

Best guess (since we are a major client we get our software differently then most) is to do a search on IBM web site for Client Access .NET data provider.
