It is an art between pure and applied arts, with Baroque and decorative styles. It is often used for architectural decoration, practical art, printmaking and illustration. With the end of the European industrial revolution, the development of science and technology is changing with each passing day. Since the ancient times, traditional values ​​have received shocks, and people’s life forms have also undergone rapid changes. In the new and perse performance of Art Nouveau, a series of complex feelings such as hope and anxiety are interwoven. This is a kind of unique and urgently seeking progress and coexistence with the world at the end of the century. Due to the influence of Japanese ukiyo-e culture, lines play a very important role in modeling. The significance of the new art as a whole is that it does not follow the style of past history, but creates the style of expressing one's own time. Among these, the banner person is Alphonse Mucha.

Mu Xia's works have distinctive features of New Art, but at the same time they also have their own unique personal characteristics. He has created a large number of illustrations for paintings, advertisements, posters, and books, as well as designs for jewelry, carpets, wallpapers, and theater installations. Mu Xi always tried various new styles and did not like imitation. He always adhered to a belief and designed to adhere to any of the popular elements, rather than following the true feelings of his heart. He claimed that the existence of art was just to wear his spiritual message, and nothing more.
