A Study on Culture Introduction in English Vocabulary Teaching in Middle School
I. Introduction
Vocabulary is the basic element and the pillar of survival of language. And language is the foundation of culture. There is no culture without language, so the vocabulary must contain rich cultural connotation. The cultural connotations of vocabulary refer to the particular traditions and ideological characteristics which are contained in the inherent in a nation or society. As the medium of the communication between people and people, vocabulary is endowed with strong national character and distinctive character. English as a world language, the cultural connotations of vocabulary is naturally rich. Therefore, it is an indispensable part in teaching link to lead the appropriate cultural content in vocabulary teaching in middle school. It is good for students to understand and master English vocabulary quickly and accurately, and it will lay a solid foundation for the cultivation of good language awareness.
