农村中学生英语学习中存在的问题及对策

Abstract
English has become an important communication language in the exchange of global politics, economy and culture. So people attach great importance to the English education and are exploring the Chinese-style education system. This paper discusses that the foundation of economy is poor, the teaching condition is weak, the teaching equipment is backward, the teaching methods are single and the quantity and quality of teachers are unsatisfactory in rural areas, and it puts forward some modified strategies to improve the teaching and learning through the methods of investment and research. It is helpful to achieve the study of the new English reform course and improve the quality of the teaching and learning.

I. Introduction
In the 21st century, with the development of economy, human has entered a learning society. With the rapid development of science and technology, international competition is increasingly fierce. The world of the comprehensive national competition is mainly the competition of science and technology. And the modern information technology is the main symbol of science and technology. As is known to all, in today’s world, English has become a common language in the world. So everyone must learn the international language well. The author of this paper analyzes the problems and strategies from three parts. The first part is the learning environment. The learning environment is about two parts–the family environment and the school environment. The second part is about the existing problems. In this part, the author of this paper analyzes the quality of teachers and the problems of students. In the part of the quality of the teachers, the author of this paper analyzes that the number of the teachers is insufficient, the English first professional degree rate is low, the teachers in rural areas still have old ideas, and teachers’ teaching methods are backward. In the part of the problems of the students, the author of this paper shows that the rural students’ English basics are different. Rural students have some bad feelings and habits. Most students are too timid and shy. Students have no interest in learning English and are lack of the learning purpose, because they don’t know about the outside world, and the importance of the English. The third part is about the strategies to solve problems. In this part, the author of this paper proposes six strategies: improving the teaching condition, enriching the classroom, building harmonious relationship, creating English environment, improving professional knowledge, and introducing effective learning methods.
