1 Introduction
As a global language all over the world, English is valued greatly in China from early child training to university education. As beginners, young kids know little about the language. So they feel a bit stressful about it. This kind of feeling is common and can be relieved if teachers apply various interesting teaching methods to English classes. Among those methods most popular is game teaching method. It’s generally acknowledged that playing games is one of the most important parts of children’s life. The life of children without playing games is incomplete and not wonderful (Ma, 2010:1). Playing games is beneficial for children in such aspects as physiology, psychology, intelligence and morality. Game-teaching in English classes can not only stimulate kid’s interest in class activities, but also help them reduce stress in acquiring a new language. Moreover, the introduction of games in English classes contributes to making children have a better understanding of knowledge and improving the relationship between teachers and students. Game-assistant teaching method makes pupils feel relaxed and get fully involved in English classes, which is much more joyful and easier than traditional English classes. However, game teaching method is still not mature, and many problems remain unsolved in the practice of language teaching for children.
