The function of the original text as Skopos Theory values, it stresses that translation is not only the conversion of language form, but also a cross-culture communication activity, attaching importance to its intention. As Vermeer pointed out that there is no communicative action without purpose, translation is no exception. Since it is a communicative action, it has its own purpose to fulfill. (Vermeer, 1998, p. 16) So it is meaningful to analyze what strategy is adopted when the purposes of translation are different, and does the translation version meet the needs of its target readers. On the basis of this point, this paper focused on the comparative study of two complete versions of Mozi— The English Version of the Complete Works of Mozi, co-translated by Professor Wang Rongpei and Professor Wang Hong from Suzhou University, and The Complete Works of Motzu, translated by Professor Cyrus Lee from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania— from the perspective of Skopos Theory. Two research questions will be addressed:1) What are the differences between these two versions in the features of translation with the similar target readers?

2) What can be concluded to be the principles in translating Chinese classics from the perspective of Skopos Theory?
