Stephenie Meyer, a modern American writer, is famous for her fantasy and romantic stories. Twilight is one of her master works. As a matter of fact, Stephenie Meyer was a full-time homemaker at first. However, one day she dreamed of a young girl and a handsome boy sitting on the grass and talking to each other. It was this dream which inspired Meyer to write the Twilight saga. This series has four novels respectively titled Twilight (2005), New Moon (2006), Eclipse (2007)and Breaking Dawn (2008).
Twilight tells a love story between a high school girl and a vampire. At the very beginning of Twilight, Bella Swan was an ordinary high school girl. She had been living with her mother in Phoenix since her parents porced. However, when her mother got married with another man whose work required them to move around a lot, she had to live with her birth father in a small town, Fox, where it was perennially rainy. Although she was not striking in appearance, her sweet smile and intelligence still attracted many boys when she showed up in her new school. Edward Cullen, a vampire, was one of them. In the meantime, Bella’s depression also ended when she met Edward and was attracted by his handsomeness and elegance. Bella found she had fallen in love with Edward even when she knew he was a vampire. In order to live with Edward forever, Bella wanted to be transformed into a vampire. She clearly knew what she wanted and boldly pursued it. Finally, Bella stepped into the unimaginable vampire world under Edward’s guidance. They got married and had a lovely daughter. However, the Volturi family thought the baby was a threat to them and they wanted to kill her. Thus, Bella and Edward had to fight for their daughter and their family.
